NATURE’S FINEST TREASURE
A family beekeeping heritage built on patience, authenticity, and respect for the land since 1987.
HOW WE STARTED BAKE&COFFEE
Golden Hive began in 1987 with a small collection of beehives nestled among the rolling hills of Transylvania. What started as a family’s passion for beekeeping soon became a lifelong commitment to preserving nature’s finest gift.
For nearly four decades, our bees have traveled across Romania’s most beautiful landscapes, gathering nectar from acacia forests, linden groves, and wildflower meadows. Every jar reflects the same values that inspired our founders: patience, authenticity, and respect for nature.

FROM TEN HIVES TO A FAMILY LEGACY
In the spring of 1987, Andrei Mureșan, a young schoolteacher from the village of Șeica Mare, purchased ten wooden beehives from a retired beekeeper in nearby Biertan. Fascinated by the harmony of the bee colony and the richness of Transylvania’s flora, he spent his weekends learning the traditional craft of beekeeping while caring for the hives with the help of his wife Elena.
As the years passed, the family expanded their apiaries throughout the Târnava Valley and the foothills of the Apuseni Mountains. Each season, the hives were carefully relocated to follow nature’s bloom—from the fragrant acacia forests near Mediaș in May, to the linden groves around Alba Iulia in June, and finally to the colorful wildflower meadows of the Carpathians during the summer months.
In 1998, after more than a decade of dedication, the family officially established Golden Hive. Their honey first appeared at local markets in Sibiu, Brașov, and Cluj-Napoca, where customers quickly appreciated its purity and distinctive regional flavors.
Word spread from family to family, and what began as a small local operation gradually grew into a respected Romanian honey producer.
Today, Golden Hive manages over 500 beehives and continues to honor the traditions on which it was founded. While modern quality standards guide every step of production, our philosophy remains unchanged: healthy bees, pristine landscapes, and honey crafted with care.
Every jar tells the story of Romania’s natural beauty, generations of dedication, and a family that never lost its connection to the land.
For the Mureșan family, beekeeping was never simply a profession—it was a way to stay connected across generations. Children spent their summers helping in the apiaries, learning the rhythms of nature and the importance of patience, hard work, and respect for the land. These values became just as important as the honey itself, shaping a family legacy that continues to inspire Golden Hive’s mission nearly four decades later.
